The role that started a nickname
Captain Awesome.
For five seasons of NBC’s cult-favorite action comedy Chuck, Ryan played Devon Woodcomb, better known as “Captain Awesome,” the impossibly capable doctor who became part of the Bartowski family and occasionally found himself pulled into Chuck’s considerably less ordinary world.
What began as one unforgettable nickname became one of Ryan’s most recognizable roles and introduced him to audiences around the world.
